EVENTS

What is an "official event"?

For purposes of GOTM points, an "official event" is

   1. Any organized cycling event that has the following characteristics:
        • Has a website describing the event
        • Requires registration to participate
        • Is organized by a company that puts on events as a primary part of its business

   2. A running event that meets the above criteria and you ride your ElliptiGO on the course as
an "official pacer" for the event.

Examples of rides that DO NOT qualify to earn points:
        • Group rides
        • Club rides
        • Solo or group endurance treks that do not meet the above criteria

How do I become a Pacer?
It varies by event, but the best place to start is with the race organizer. Often they are looking for volunteers on bikes to pace their running events.

How do I submit a completed event?
If you rode your ElliptiGO in a qualifying event, you can submit it through the form on the GOTM webpage.

How do I find an event?
You can click here for a list of our "Featured Events", which earn bonus points. To find other rides in your area, the best way is to search online. Here are a couple of links to some websites that have good lists of events across the country: Active.com and BikeRide.com

I've heard about bonus points for certain events – how do I learn more about that?
Check out our "Featured Events" page. In the right hand column you can see the bonus points available for each of these rides.

LISTING AN INDIVIDUAL OR CLUB ON THE MAP

How do I list myself on the map so people can find me to ride with?

There are a couple ways to do this. First, when you are submitting an event you will be asked if you would like to publish your location, as well. Simply select "yes". Second, you can send an email to gotm@elliptigo.com with your name, city/state, and preferred contact info (phone number, email address, Strava profile, etc.) and we'll get you added.

How do I list a local ElliptiGO club?
Please send an email to gotm@elliptigo.com with the club name, city, and state, plus the club leader's name and preferred contact info (phone number, email address, Strava profile, etc.) and we'll get your club added.

USING THE MAP
How do I see the "Map"?

Just click on the image of the map at the top of the GOTM webpage or click here.

How do I find my own rides on the Map?
Start typing your name into the search bar at the top of the map and then select yourself from the names that appear below. You can use the scroll bar on the side of the map itself to see a listing of the events below the map.

How do I find other riders looking to connect for rides or a local club in my city?
You can do this by typing your city and state or zip code into the search bar at the top of the map, then look for the yellow pins. Click on a yellow pin to find out details about that individual or club.

I only see one pin in my city – does that mean that there is only one event/individual there?
Not likely. Many pins represent numerous people or events. To find out if that is the case for a specific pin, click on it and look in the upper right hand corner of the box. If it says "1 of X" then there are X number of pins co-located there.
