Pedal Pushing: ElliptiGO offers a fun and firming workout

Pedal Pushing ElliptiGO NY PostHere’s a new device that offers a great workout that’s a lot more fun than being stuck on a treadmill going nowhere.

The ElliptiGO is a cross between an elliptical machine and a bicycle. While it takes a few minutes of getting used to, its an immediate good time.

“You can get all the benefits of running, without the jarring impact on your hips and joints,” said ElliptiGO’s Anamaria Nino-Murcia, who was in Central Park to give test rides. “It’s the runner’s high without the runner’s knee.”

The ElliptiGO comes in three-speed and eight-speed versions, and is so new, it drew stares of amazement when I took it for a whirl in the park.

Nino-Murcia says the ElliptiGO can climb hills and go up to 28 miles per hour. Plus, you can bring the ElliptiGO inside once winter comes – it can be mounted on an indoor device.

The ElliptiGO is available at Bay Ridge Bicycles in Brooklyn, or log on to Elliptigo.com to schedule a test ride.
