The San Francisco to Los Angeles Epic Ride

488 Miles

March 15 - 19, 2010

In March, more than 25,000 runners from around the world made their way to the LA Marathon by train, plane or automobile - but not Dean Karnazes. Dean, the ultimate adventurer, propelled himself almost 500 miles from San Francisco to the LA Marathon starting line on an ElliptiGO.  In so doing, Dean set the distance record for a multi-day elliptical biking event.  According to Dean, the ElliptiGO is the best cross-training device he has ever used, bar none, and it exceeded his expectations during the five-day adventure.

After seeing us at the Rock N’ Roll Marathon last year, Dean got his hands on an early prototype and has integrated it into his ultramarathon training regimen.  He did great throughout the trek and arrived in LA ready to hit the pavement.
