ElliptiGO Project Athletes Cap May with Strong Performances

Achievements include several Olympic qualifying times, personal bests and American Records

San Diego, CA (June 3, 2015) — ElliptiGO, Inc., the creators of the world’s first elliptical bike, today announced that several members of The ElliptiGO Project turned in strong performances on the road and on the track this past weekend.

Three ElliptiGO Project athletes were invited to race in the women’s 1500-meter event at the Prefontaine Classic on May 30th in Eugene, Oregon. All three ran the 2015 World Championship A-Standard and 2016 Olympic A-Standard in the event. Two-time Olympian Shannon Rowbury was the second American finisher in the race, taking 4th overall in 4:02.28. Sarah Brown and Katie Mackey set personal bests in the race en route to finishing 6th and 8th overall in times of 4:03:20 and 4:03.81, respectively. All three are well positioned to earn a spot representing the United States at the Track and Field World Championships in Beijing this year.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, ElliptiGO Project member Ben True became the first American to win The UAE Healthy Kidney 10K in New York City since 2007. True’s time of 28:13 bested a stacked field that included several Olympians and a former NYC Marathon champion. In April, True set the American Record in the road 5K and continues to enjoy a very strong 2015.

On Sunday, May 31st, Olympic Silver Medalist, NYC Marathon Champion and Boston Marathon Champion Meb Keflezighi made his masters debut at the Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon in San Diego, California. Meb was the first Masters finisher and took 2nd overall in a time of 1:02:26. During the race, Meb set American Masters records for the 15-kilometer and 10-mile distances. In the same race, ElliptiGO Project members Matt Llano and Sarah Hall also met the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying standards.

As members of The ElliptiGO Project, all of these athletes have incorporated the ElliptiGO elliptical cycle into their training to reduce their risk of injury and to get faster.
