International Elliptical Cycling Day Connects Riders Worldwide

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 18, 2014)— ElliptiGO Inc., creators of the world’s first elliptical bicycle, today announced the success of the inaugural International Elliptical Cycling Day. On July 12, 2014, nine years after ElliptiGO co-founders Bryan Pate and Brent Teal formed their partnership, ElliptiGO riders from New Zealand to the Netherlands covered over 5,000 miles to mark the anniversary. Local ride leaders in cities around the world organized groups of ElliptiGOs and put together a fun day of riding and camaraderie for all participants. As a bonus, all riders earned points for ElliptiGO’s “Get On The Map” program. At the end of the year, participants can redeem these points for unique ElliptiGO jerseys, jackets and other merchandise that can only be earned through the program.

“It’s great to see so many customers take part in an event like this and make connections with other people through their riding,” said Bryan Pate, Co-Founder of ElliptiGO. “Nine years ago, this company was only a sketch and a handshake in a Solana Beach coffee shop. Now, we have enough customers that on a single day a fraction of them can put in enough miles on their ElliptiGOs to travel from San Diego, California to Augusta, Maine and then down to Miami Beach, Florida. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event as we continue to bring the ElliptiGO community even closer together.”

ElliptiGO’s Get On The Map program is the only one of its kind in the cycling industry. Launched this year, the program has quickly gained popularity with elliptical cyclists from around the world. Reward items for the 2014 season include a custom-engraved beer stein, Team ElliptiGO riding jacket, riding jersey, t-shirt, and branded travel mug.
