In lieu of a Black Friday Sale in 2020, ElliptiGO is taking the opportunity to give back. For the entire month of November, we are donating 20% of ElliptiGO Bike sales to the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). in the form of ElliptiGO bikes and Fluid 365 Stationary Trainers, up to $70,000 in value (which is equivalent to approximately 20 8Cs and 20 Fluid 365 trainers). CAF is a top-rated charity on Charity Navigator and if you visit their website, we think you’ll agree it’s an inspiring organization to partner with.
CAF’s mission is to serve people with physical disabilities through sport and fitness with meaningful grants. Over the last 27 years, they have given over 30,000 grants to individuals with permanent physical disabilities worldwide.
One of CAF’s programs is called Operation Rebound®, which focuses on strengthening the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports. As you can read below, this is not ElliptiGO’s first effort in supporting challenged athletes.
Help us provide ElliptiGO bikes and trainers to challenged athletes!
In 2012, SGT David Guzman received a bike through CAF’s Operation Rebound program.
This is what David had to say about the ElliptiGO back in 2012. He still rides his ElliptiGO 1-2x/week.
“I was hit by an IED in 2004. I lost my right calf and have shrapnel in my right wrist, ear, and cheek. The ElliptiGO has been a dream come true for me because my injuries don’t allow me to ride a regular bike, but I have been able to ride the ElliptiGO and be free again.” – SGT David Guzman
Brian Reynolds, a bilateral below-the-knee amputee an ElliptiGO bike into his training, using it 1-2x/day, 5 days a week,
in addition to his 50-60 miles of running, which helped him set multiple world records at the marathon and half-marathon.
Brian Reynolds was one of the recipients of ElliptiGO’s 2018 Authentic and Inspiring Award.
“As a double amputee it can be difficult to train at the high volume expected of most elite marathoners. Using the ElliptiGO to heavily supplement my training has been a game changer that has helped me to set multiple world records!” – Brian Reynolds
We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership and we look forward to positively impacting more lives.
The plan is to make our finalized donation commitment on “Giving Tuesday”, which is Tuesday, December 1st.
CAF will be responsible for the selection of the deserving winners of these bikes and trainers via their grant application process.
