More than 50 people gathered in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the 4th Annual ElliptiGO Winter Classic, which was the first event organized by the recently formed Global ElliptiGO Riders Club. Attendees represented 10 states and came from as far away as Florida, New Jersey and Massachusetts. The Classic featured group rides on Saturday and Sunday for riders of all levels. After the rides, attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including sand volleyball, lounging poolside, dancing and socializing.
In the 40th running of the TCS New York City Marathon, three ElliptiGO athletes finished in the top 10 and six placed in the top 20, cheered on by Rio Olympians and fellow ElliptiGO athletes Meb Keflezighi and Jared Ward, who were co-Grand Marshalls of the race.
In the 7th Annual World Championships of Elliptical Cycling, both the returning female and male champions defended their titles. Rusty Snow continued his stranglehold on the event, cruising to his fifth straight victory. Sarah Brown sliced more than 4 minutes off the women’s record that she set last year. She is now the fastest woman ever in the event by more than 12 minutes.
Physical Therapist Anna Thatcher completed the 129-mile Death Ride, which features more than 15,000 feet of climbing. This marked the seventh year in a row that an ElliptiGO rider has finished all five passes of the grueling ride.
Ohio University released the results of a new study comparing training on an ElliptiGO elliptical bicycle, which emulates the running motion, with run training. Findings revealed that training on the ElliptiGO bike produced similar physiological and subjective results in trained runners as compared to running over a 4-week training period.
ElliptiGO Inc. announced today its title sponsorship of a presentation on the benefits of cross-training by 2016 United States Olympian Meb Keflezighi at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 63rd Annual Meeting in Boston.
