Still great after 3,500 miles *Updated Review*
by Tom from Washington DC
I purchased my ElliptiGO about a year ago and have been using it almost daily since. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner, as I delayed for about a year due to cost. It has proved to be worth every penny and more.
I am an ex-football player, ex-basketball player, ex-skier, and ex-marathoner who has had two major back surgeries and two major knee surgeries. I relied heavily on cycling for exercise after all my injuries, but even that proved to be painful on both the knees and back. I was not sure what to expect with the ElliptiGO, but it has proven to be great. Not only do my knees and back not hurt, at all, during or after Elliptigoing, but it is actually therapeutic, relieving any pre-riding pain I have. I commute on my Elliptigo every day (exactly 10 miles each way), rain or shine, daytime and nighttime. Before getting my Elliptigo, I commuted on bike. Elliptigo is a better workout, and I arrive feeling great. On the bike, I frequently arrived with back and knee soreness (and the bike was fitted properly). I still have my 8 bikes, but they have seen little mileage since I got my Elliptigo.
After about 3,500 miles (my computer broke down for a while, so I don't know exactly), my Elliptigo continues to go strong. I have had some technical glitches, but Elliptigo was great in working them out for me. Also, if you can work on a bike, you can work on Elliptigo. It is at least as easy to maintain as a bike (probably easier because you do not have to mess with derraileurs).
Needless to say, I am a big fan, and frequent user. Go Elliptigo!

My Pink 8C <3
by Becky from Carlisle, PA
I'm a 6'2" female and find the elliptical machines at the gym don't have the stride legnth, that my GO has. On my Go, I have no joint pain or numbness in my feet unlike the ellipticals at the gym. I can't wait for the arrival of my stationary trainer to arrive...Really can't wait for spring to hit the open road!

Pink elliptigo 8C
by Brooke M from California
The best thing I have ever bought!!! I got the stationary trainer and I'm addicted!! At first I thought it was going to be extremely easy like the ellipticals in gyms but I sweat more in 30 minutes on my stationary trainer than I ever did in an hour at the gym on regular ellipticals!! If you're thinking about it, then go for it!!! You wont be disappointed!!!

The "sickest" bike in Derry
by George Armstead from Derry, NH
At least that's what all the kids say..I think it's a compliment! I was on the bike just 10 weeks out of spine fusion surgery and have been using the elliptigo as my therapy vehicle. My surgeon viewed the video on the website and gave it his blessing as long as I didn't push it. Now the Elliptigo lets me enjoy my recovery period. I am looking forward to my first century ride on the Elliptigo in the spring!

Stand Up and Ride!
by Michael Bloom from Carlsbad, CA
Cross-Training on the Elliptigo over the past six months propelled me to my first podium appearance at the Nautica Malibu Classic Triathlon. My finish time was 10 minutes faster than four previous attempts. Can’t say enough about this brilliant machine. Stand up and Ride!!

Injured Runner Review
by Jeffrey Hines from York, PA
I'm a 50 year old competitive runner that gets frequently sidelined due to achilles/calf injuries. I bought an 8C 2 weeks ago and am absolutely thrilled with it. Although I currently walk with a limp due to injury, I can get on the 8C and ride 50 miles with absolutely no pain. What's even more amazing is that I can get up the next day and do a 25 miler without difficulty. This just shows that an ElliptiGO workout is very low impact.

Exactly what I'd been searching for...
by Joseph from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
My fitness level has slowly decreased over the last few years due to knee problems inhibiting my running and discomfort on bike seats. The Elliptigo was a perfect solution. My 8C climbs the steep hills of the RPV peninsula with ease and glides smooth just like a stationary elliptical in a gym. There is no discomfort, it's an awesome cardio burn and it inspires a lot of fun curious looks from observers as I pass. I wish I could marry it because I'm going to be in love for life.

Elliptical Lovers - A great way to get outside
by Carolyn from Boca Raton, Florida
I have owned the ElliptiGO 8S for six weeks now and love it. I have used a elliptical machine daily for many years but having moved to the sunny state last year I was eager to find something to do outside and the ElliptiGO was the answer. I have done over 500 miles and with the addition of toe cages (must have) loved every moment of it, it provides a challenge especially uphill with the wind in your face. The ElliptiGO support staff are amazing as well, Great Customer Service!

Achieiving the Runner's High Without the Wear and Tear on my Knees
by Mike Ruffolo from Boston, MA
I purchased my Black ElliptiGo to provide a no-impact,cross-training alternative to running. Like many customers, I was frustrated/bored with indoor exercising and really missed the endorphin release from running outside and enjoying the scenery. I enjoy the aerobic benefits of running without the wear and tear on my knees. The ElliptiGO is fun, easy to use and as challenging as you want it to be. I look forward to more people in the Boston area enjoying this amazing new product.

Great for the commute
by Tom from Washington, DC
After 100 miles, it certainly exceeds expectations (which were high). Excellent build quality, unparallelled customer service. This specific workout - weight bearing exercise w/o impact - is just what I needed - re-activates muscles I hadn't been using much since giving up running (2 bad kees, bad back). Commute is 20 miles, somewhat flat, so I swapped out 53T for 60T; now I can keep up with the shavers on road bikes. Stillkeeping commuter bikes for heavy ice, but otherwise Elliptigo!

Great for every kind of athlete
by Martina from San Francisco, CA
I've been a competitive runner, cyclist and triathlete for 25 years, and I know of no other way to get as good a workout that's still easy on your body. My 6'4" husband and I (5'4") are able to share one, and it works equally well for us both. I use it for recovery rides. My swimmer husband uses it to get two extra aerobic workouts in a week while he commutes. Quality of the bike is fantastic, wonderful details like the palm grips-- and the experience riding one is wonderful.

My best purchase of the year!
by Ben from Los Angeles, CA
I just put my 1000th mile on my E-GO, bought in October, and I am still completely hooked! After blowing out a knee from too much running, it's amazing to be back outside again and having this much fun to boot. The workout is fabulous--better than cycling, particularly when I try to keep up with my friends on bike. I've had no problems with my knee, even on steep (15%+ grade) hills, even though long walks are difficult for me. And I love the stares and comments from passersby!

Awesome!!
by Sid Scheck from Delray Beach, FL
I was watching the news and saw the story on the Elliptigo. I use the Elliptical machine 5 days a week. I went to a local place and tried it out. As soon as I tried it, I knew this was something I had to have. So I ordered a blue one and 2 weeks later I received it. What a ride. An incredible feeling and incredible workout. If you have the budget, don't think twice about getting one. You will be so happy you did.

Excellent Cross-Training Tool!
by Lora V from New York City, NY
I love my ElliptiGO 8S. As a road runner, I highly recommend the ElliptiGO as both a cross-training and recovery tool. It is excellent at enabling me to keep up my aerobic momentum while giving my joints a much-needed recovery period after long distance races. The ElliptiGO provides an incredible workout - gets great speed on the road, tackles hills smoothly, and is most importantly liberating and fun to use!

Unconditional money back offer?
by Steve Davis from Bonner Springs, Kansas
I sold myself on this unique machine because I have a tailbone injury from 20 years ago that makes seated bike riding an impossibility after just a short ride. The website said I could send it back within 60 days for a full refund. I hope the folks at elliptigo aren't holding their breath waiting. They aren't getting my machine back.

Great, really fun.
by Brian from Coeur Dalene, ID
I have ridden my bicycle halfway across theUS twice. I have seen thousands of miles of asphalt, it is so nice to be able to look around. Moreover my hands and dont get sore. The mechanism is surprisingly stable. In the last week I have 4 people try it out. They a wobble for 2 pedal strokes and then they are off. I would say that it is about as fast as my mountain bike on the road with slick tires. I'm very happy with it. FYI I am In healthcare and have no affiliation with company.

No back-pain riding
by Steve Heller from Acton, MA
A few years ago, I got into biking for exercise, and I enjoyed it more and more. Sadly, I began to suffer lower back pain, making sitting and bending uncomfortable. My ElliptiGO has gotten me back on the road; no sitting or bending. The muscles used are more balanced than biking: E-GO uses quads, hams, calfs, and plenty core, where biking is almost exclusively quads and calfs. E-GO riding takes a bit more energy per hour and per mile than biking, so I don't have the same range, which is a challenge commuting to work. However, I can get a workout quicker. After a couple of months of ownership and several dozen rides, I'm happy to report back-pain free biking.

What a head turner!
by Judith Ann Cotsakos from Vacaville, CA
It took no time to get my elliptigo8S up and running. I did it my self. I am so excited to own this high tech. machine, that every where I go people turn and point. It is about the ride-smooth, fun, different, a great work out, fluid, I could go on but I got to go and ride now. Wow-- just get one and you will see...

Dont buy this if you dislike stares and shouted comments
by Tim Huebner from Santa Cruz, CA
Because you'll probably get more stares and shouted comments than you expect. My first ride I heard "that's whacky!". My second ride I heard "you're awesome". My third ride I heard "excuse me, young man!". Which I am not. Young, I mean. Mine is blue. ElliptiGO is just like you'd imagine an elliptical trainer on wheels to be. The main difference is that you move your body's mass from side to side on a stationary trainer but, on an ElliptiGO, your body's movement is only very slightly from side to side since the ElliptiGO can move, tilting, side to side underneath you. The rollers at the front of the crank arms (legs?) are the noisiest part of the process. It took me about 3 or 4 rides for me to get comfortable. From the first ride it has been getting more fun each time. Since one stands on it, one's legs act like a suspension for your torso -- it gives an unusually nice, smooth ride. There's no seat slamming your crotch. On really bumpy terrain my feet sometimes slip around a bit but not enough to approach popping out of the foot cradles. There's only 8 gears but that's really enough because you can adjust your stride balance, too. It climbs well.

Life changing ride!
by Dottie Vohs from Concordia, KS
I was a runner for many years. There is nothing like getting up and heading outside for a run first thing in the morning. I haven't been able to do that for several years and I still miss it. A few weeks ago I came home from work and there was this Green ElliptiGO sitting in my breeze way and my life is good once again! My husband equiped it with a headlight, tail light and a speedometer so first thing in the morning I am out the door. Thank you so much for this amazing machine!!

Commute
by Chandler Wiegand from Maryland / Washington, DC
I have been riding my Elliptigo to work 5 days a week, approx. 20 miles round trip, and met more people in the last month than in the last 10 years.I'm stopped at least once a day asking what the heck kind of bike it that. This morning it was a DC police officer telling me he'd like to get a good workout on the Ellipitgo instead of riding in his cruiser all day. The kids at the bus stops along the way all point and yell "cool bike"! The machine so far has performed well with the exception of some creaking that Zack has helped reduce with a spray lube. I also adjusted my shifter and that tuned the gears right in.I have a very hilly commute and the Elliptigo handles it easily. It is a bit slower than my old bicycle but much more comfortable on hills and lots more fun to ride in general. I made the transition from my bicycle and will not go back. So far the Elliptigo has been a great purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a enjoyable way to get around.

Experience
by Anthony Weido from Houston, TX
I have have my 8S for about a month. I love riding it as much or more than when I first got it. I cruise the hike and bike trails around Houston's Bayous. It is wonderful on these paved trails (with a few climbs over and under roads, no real hills in Houston). Great work out and a great cross trainer for cycling. Has the low time cost that I miss from my running days. My running problems have not resurfaced using the 8S.

Just arrived
by Anthony Weido from Houston, TX
I watched the online video for unpacking. I then proceeded to emulate such with great ease. I installed my speedometer, a headlight, a tail light (p.s. the unit recommended for such will only attach to the end of the lever arm, two will give it balance). I was then off for a quick test spin around the block. My wife took a turn, then a neighbor was next. EASY PEASY. I will update this later after a few serious rides.

A fantastic machine
by Bob Miller from Camarillo, CA
Aging is not a kinkly situation for an active person. I have had to give up just about everything I do for fun and conditioning. After having to give up bike riding because of lower back degenerative discs, I was fortunate enough to bump into the ElliptiGO 8S. What a lifesaver! The 8S allows you to keep perfect posture while getting a great workout while "getting out there". It is easy to ride, easy on the body, great aerobic conditioning, and just plain FUN!! If you are looking for a way to be active without damaging your body, get an 8S.

ElliptiGO 8S
by John Pilkington from San Diego, CA
I had to give up running shortly after my college career due to degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. I took up cycling but still had issues with my lower back and new issues with cervical disc problems. I took one more shot at running and was all ready for a 1/2 marathon when I totally blew out my back. After two shots of... cortisone in the lower back and my doctor saying no more running PERIOD, I came home to see the elliptigo on TV and put a deposit down, sight unseen. I had never even been on an elliptical machine. I was able to test ride the bike on Feb 28, 2010, I think it was the first shipment, and I bought the bike and brought it home. I have been riding for almost four months and have ridden over 1,000 miles. The workout is way better than anything you would get in a gym and is the closest I can get to running without doing further damage to my back. I am almost 55 and 30 years from my competitive running days and I am on the bike 3-5 days a week. An hour on the elliptigo is like three hours on a bike! The total health effects of the Elliptigo are unbelievable. Especially for a guy who would rather spend three hours on the road than in a gym!!!
