Are toe cages necessary?

Toe cages are our most popular accessory, but using them is a matter of personal preference. They are designed to provide comfort and security when riding at high speed and over bumpy terrain as well as enable you to generate power from your recovery stroke. These advantages tend to be most noticeable when climbing and descending hills or sprinting. Our toe cages are not intended to lock your foot into place (like clip-in pedals on a bicycle) and they should be set so that you can always easily remove and insert your feet into them.
