GO-Run. Meet Your Coach!

Kim NedeauI’m Coach Kim Nedeau and I’m excited to work with you to integrate your run and ElliptiGO training! I’ve loved running for as long as I can remember and started training consistently when I was 14 years old. I haven’t stopped loving this sport since then, even though there has been a lot of heartache along the way.

I enjoyed many competitive years without injury; high school cross country and track, another four years in college at Brown University and post-collegiate running with the Boston Athletic Association. But as I pushed my mileage, the injuries started to creep in. I think I’ve had them all: stress fractures, hamstring strains, piriformis syndrome, low back pain, ankle sprain, torn hip labrum, shin splits etc.

I don’t mind calling myself an injury-prone runner because this also made me curious about why runners experience injuries and if there might be a safer approach to training. I became a research junky. This curiosity led to a deep understanding of how to create an alternative training plan that allows us to continue to perform our best!

I’ve coached dozens of athletes who combine run and GO training to run times they are proud of. For some of my athletes, that means running new personal records or age group records. It also means helping my athletes complete training without feeling overly fatigued or enjoying injury-free running. My first goal is always to keep my athletes injury-free and feeling fresh because I know if we can achieve that goal first, performance goals fall into place naturally.

Here are a few athlete successes from some of my GO-Run athletes:

  • AB broke the 4-hr marathon barrier, finally!
  • SC ran their fastest time ever up Mount Washington
  • EB matched her younger years ½ marathon PR at age 50
  • SP ran a marathon just as fast at age 44 compared with age 33
  • BH 2nd place Hyrox US Championships
  • CP turned injury-prone running into four years of injury-free running.

Some personal career successes since I started riding an ElliptiGO in 2018

  • Overall champ, New England 8k Championships, age 40
  • US Mountain Running Championships Masters National Champion
  • 3rd place overall at Mount Washington Road Race, age 40
  • ElliptiGO World Champion and the second fastest woman ever to climb Palomar Mountain
  • 17:20 road 5k, 5:35/mile, age 45
