Announcing the 2018 World Championship and Rally Weekend

ElliptiGO enthusiasts from far and wide will gather at ElliptiGO Headquarters in Solana Beach, California for the 9th Annual ElliptiGO Rally Weekend and World Championship, held October 19-21. Three things are certain: It will be bigger, better and more fun than ever! Mark your calendar now and be on the lookout for more details in the coming months.

Since its beginning in 2010, the 11.7 mile, 4200-foot climb up Palomar Mountain has played host to the ElliptiGO World Championship (AKA “The Founder’s Cup”). Elite athletes from a variety of sporting backgrounds, as well as competitive enthusiasts have established this course as the ultimate measure of ElliptiGO fitness.

Putting the ElliptiGO bike’s climbing and performance skills to the test, the route ascends at a steady, average grade of 7% from 1059ft to 5268ft at the finish. Many runners who have tackled this climb compare the duration and fatigue to racing a half marathon. The main difference being that while every ounce of energy is gone at the finish, the aches and pains associated with the cumulative impact of running a half marathon are nowhere to be found. It allows for a relaxed and magnificent descent, after rejoicing with fellow riders and supporters. Fun fact: The day after tackling last year’s World Championship, one of our employees and her husband (both amateur triathletes) enjoyed a long run, as if nothing happened. The physical proof of no impact on the body, after an extensively hard effort, astonished them both.
