Conquer Palomar Together:
Join the ElliptiGO Team Challenge

Since 2010, ElliptiGO has been redefining what it means to ride. When we launched the world’s first outdoor elliptical bike, our vision went beyond creating a revolutionary product – it was about creating an entirely new sport. That year, we hosted the inaugural Elliptical Cycling World Championships, where the first female and male victors each claimed the prestigious ElliptiGO Founders’ Cup. Over the years, we’ve continued to push the boundaries of what’s possible on two wheels, expanding the event in 2019 to include a Stand Up Bike (SUB) category, where SUB athletes now race the same legendary Palomar Mountain course alongside our elliptical riders.

For 2025, we’re thrilled to introduce the Team Challenge Event – a brand-new race format that emphasizes strategy, teamwork, and endurance. This is your chance to tackle Palomar Mountain with a partner, splitting the ride and racing for the fastest combined time.

About the Team Challenge

The Team Challenge will follow the same iconic Palomar Mountain route as the Elliptical Cycling World Championships: 11.69 miles with 4,209 feet of climbing, averaging a grade of nearly 7%. Each team will consist of two riders sharing one elliptical or stand-up bike, taking turns riding separate legs of the course. Your bike is the baton and the fastest combined time takes the win!

Limited to the first 10 approved teams, so act fast if you want to be part of this historic new category!

Event Details

  • Teams must have two riders sharing one bike (elliptical or stand-up).
  • Leg 1: Rider 1 completes the first leg.
  • Leg 2: Rider 2 completes the second leg.
Teams are responsible for transporting the second rider to the transition area, moving the first rider to the top of the mountain, and bringing both riders and the bike back to the bottom.
  • A small dirt parking area is available at the transition point. Carpooling is encouraged.
