Six ElliptiGO athletes finish in top 20 at TCS New York City Marathon
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (November 9, 2016) – ElliptiGO Inc., creators of the world’s first elliptical bicycle, congratulates its athletes for outstanding performances in the 40th running of the TCS New York City Marathon. With fellow ElliptiGO athletes and Rio Olympians Meb Keflezighi and Jared Ward looking on as co-Grand Marshalls, three runners would go on to have top 10 finishes, with another three finishing in the top 20.
On the women’s side, Neely Spence-Gracey had the highest female finish of the day for an ElliptiGO athlete, crossing the line in a new personal best of 2:34:55, making her the 2nd American and 8th place overall finisher. This performance comes off her finish as the top American at the 2016 Boston Marathon this past spring. Not far back, fellow American Sara Hall crossed the line in 2:36:12, placing as 3rd American and 9th overall in the event.
In the men’s race, Shadrack (Shaddy) Biwott was the highest ElliptiGO finisher of the day, crossing the line in 2:12:01 to grab the 2nd place American and 5th place overall spot. Behind him, Craig Leon, a top ten finisher from 2015, nearly repeated the feat, finishing 11th in 2:17:14. Rounding out ElliptiGO athletes placing in the top 20, Matt Llano, who led some early miles in the event, finished 17th in 2:20:15, while Tim Ritchie crossed the line in 2:21:09.
