The Global ElliptiGO Riders Club (GERC) hosted the 13th Annual ElliptiGO Winter Classic in Carefree, Arizona, January 16–18, 2026. The weekend delivered everything ElliptiGO riders love about this signature gathering: sunny desert rides, great camaraderie, and plenty of memorable moments along the way. Forty enthusiastic participants traveled from nine states to join the fun. Representing ElliptiGO HQ were Bryan Pate, CEO of ElliptiGO’s parent company, PT Motion Works, and Service Manager Keri Cleeremans. Here’s a recap of the delightful weekend. Thank you to Jane Cremer for reporting on all of the fun!
A Warm Welcome in Carefree
The host hotel, the Hampton Inn Carefree, was the hub of activity for all participants. Conveniently located near the whimsically named crossroads of Easy Street and Ho Hum Drive, the hotel happily welcomes Winter Classic riders. The roomy accommodations even have enough space to park ElliptiGO bikes indoors! Many out-of-town riders stayed on-site and enjoyed easy walks to social events.
The weekend kicked off with Friday’s GERC-hosted happy hour around the outdoor fire pit. Past participants reunited, new friendships were formed, and conversations flowed easily. A large group then wandered across the street and past the iconic Carefree Sundial to Athens on Easy Street for a delicious Mediterranean dinner.
A Great Day for Desert Riding and Dining
Saturday morning greeted riders with clear skies, sunshine, and calm desert air. Everyone gathered at longtime Winter Classic favorite Big Earl’s before heading out on one of two scenic route options. Whether they chose a more spirited pace or a relaxed ride, everyone enjoyed the sweeping desert views in the towns of Cave Creek and Carefree.
Lunch back at Big Earl’s was a highlight in itself, with burgers, fries, and adult milkshakes on the sunny patio. After the meal, event organizers introduced a team challenge: The Big Pants Champions. In this lighthearted game, each team designated a catcher, who wore enormous pants with a hoop waistband. Teammates lined up to toss small basketballs into their catcher’s pants. The game required more enthusiasm than skill, and the laughter could probably be heard across Cave Creek!
Saturday night’s group dinner at Pizzicata brought everyone back together for Italian dishes, drinks, and plenty of storytelling from the day’s adventures. The relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and constant buzz of conversation made it another standout evening. The restaurant has already welcomed Winter Classic participants back for next year—always a good sign!
Sunday Rides and a Sweet Send-Off
On Sunday, riders rolled out from the hotel parking lot. One group tackled a more challenging route with rolling hills and climbs, while another enjoyed a new, more casual route with scenic photo stops. Both rides showcased the beauty of the Sonoran Desert as well as quiet residential neighborhoods.
Afterward, riders gathered back at the hotel patio for Ray’s Pizza and fresh-baked cookies, courtesy of GERC. Those who had to depart said their goodbyes, while those who were able to stay met up Sunday evening to enjoy dinner, a football playoff game, and a spectacular desert sunset at Mountain View Pub .
