5th Annual Spring Classic Recap

The sun was shining bright, and the winds were in ElliptiGO riders favor for the 5th Annual Spring Classic last weekend. The event took place March 17-19th in Clermont, Florida. A hearty crew of 28 riders from seven different states gathered for a weekend of riding, camaraderie and laughter. The festivities were kicked off with a MarGOrita Meet and Greet by the pool at the Hampton Inn in Clermont. To commemorate, riders were given an ElliptiGO Spring Classic hat.

The next day, riders set out at 9:30 in the morning, some starting from the hotel and meeting others at the Killarney Station Trailhead. The ride from the West Orange Trail to Chapin Station, covered 12 miles round trip. The alternate route was from the Clarcona Ocoee Horse Park, covering over 30 miles round trip. Along the way, they made several stops to take photos and socialize. At Winter Garden, they had a delicious lunch at the Plant St Market, an historic produce market with 20 vendors serving natural organic food and beverages and handmade products.

After a well-deserved break, everyone reconvened at the Clermont Brewing Company for dinner. The CBC is a craft brewer that also offers signature cocktails and wine, and a mouthwatering dinner menu featuring wood-fired pizzas, a variety of tacos, and sushi. Talk about something for everyone!

Sunday riders woke up to a little bit of rain, but ElliptiGO riders being a positive bunch, it didn’t dampen their spirits. Once the sun broke through the clouds, the riders set out once more, meeting at the Minneola Trailhead Park. This time the ride took them west on the South Lake Trail, with different groups choosing different routes for a mixer ride.

Everyone enjoyed the stunning shoreline of Lake Minneola, with some riders following Royce Scobey, a Clermont area customer and all around great guy, around the lake. To finish the ride, they met a pavilion on the shoreline for a picnic lunch of sandwiches, fruit, chips, cookies and hearty conversation.

Lisa Chapman who organized the event says “one of the highlights of the event was Keri Cleeremans, the ElliptiGO’s Service Manager, who joined us on this adventure. Keri helped us with bike servicing for all three days and shared her knowledge with everyone, turning us all into better bike mechanics.”

Thank you to Lisa and Del Chapman for arranging this East Coast event. Sounds like it was an amazing weekend of adventure and camaraderie. We say it all the time but ElliptiGO really does have the best community of people. Don’t miss out on other GERC (Global ElliptiGO Riders Club) events happening this year or this event next year!
