Dean Karnazes, the internationally celebrated endurance athlete and NY Times bestselling author, digs his Sky Blue ElliptiGO Stand Up Bike. And yes, we dig Dean too!
After seeing us at the Rock N’ Roll Marathon in 2009, the “Ultramarathon Man” got his hands on an early prototype of the world’s first elliptical bike and has integrated it into his ultramarathon training regimen ever since. As an early adopter, we have countless stories tying this ultimate adventurer and ElliptiGO together. But no story is more epic than the 500-mile ride from his place of residence in San Francisco to Los Angeles. In March 2010, more than 25,000 runners from around the world voyaged to the LA Marathon by train, plane or car – but not Dean. Dean propelled himself from San Francisco to the LA Marathon starting line on an ElliptiGO bike. Through this five-day unsupported adventure, Dean set the distance record at that time for a multi-day elliptical running event. He did great throughout the trek and arrived in LA ready to run 26 miles. Not surprisingly, ElliptiGO bikes are the ultimate cross-training device according to Dean.
