Highlights from the 11th Annual
ElliptiGO Winter Classic

A few weekends ago, January 12-14, the Global ElliptiGO Riders Club (GERC) hosted the 11th Annual ElliptiGO Winter Classic. Set against the stunning backdrop of Scottsdale, Arizona, this year’s event was an exhilarating weekend of camaraderie, laughter and unforgettable memories. We had 43 riders from ten different states in attendance. The ElliptiGO HQ team was represented by our CEO, Bryan Pate and our Service Manager, Keri Cleeremans. Here’s a recap of this year’s event.

Friday evening, participants gathered in the lobby of the Home2 Suites by Hilton. The air buzzed with excitement as old friends reunited and new connections were forged during a lively happy hour hosted by GERC. The turnout was incredible, with 40 enthusiastic community members spilling into the hotel lobby, setting the stage for an epic weekend ahead. As the evening unfolded, over 20 riders continued their conversations over dinner at the nearby Copper Mule Kitchen & Bar, cementing bonds that will last a lifetime.

Saturday morning dawned crisp and chilly as riders gathered at the beloved Big Earl’s, the traditional starting point for the day’s group ride. Against the backdrop of Cave Creek and Carefree, AZ, cyclists embarked on their chosen routes, each offering breathtaking vistas of the desert landscape. Upon their return, Big Earl’s welcomed weary riders with mouthwatering burgers, fries, and adult milkshakes—a tradition cherished for nine glorious years.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Saturday night came alive with laughter and camaraderie at Coconuts, a local favorite in north Scottsdale. Here riders enjoyed Maui-style fish tacos and poke bowls and regaled each other with tales of the day’s adventures. The festivities continued into the night as over 20 participants headed to Bowlero for a nightcap, indulging in bowling, arcade games, and spirited banter late into the evening.

Sunday morning riders gathered once more, this time at Apache Wash Trailhead in north Phoenix, eager to explore the desert terrain and capture memories against the backdrop of azure skies. Following the ride, GERC treated riders to a tailgate-style feast of Streets of New York pizza, cookies, and beverages, while post-ride activities ranged from hula hooping to balancing on the GiBoards. This year’s addition was tutus, with over 15 tutus making a colorful appearance, complemented by big red wax lips for added silliness and flair.

As the weekend drew to a close, approximately 20 riders gathered for a final farewell at Someburros, a beloved local eatery serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and frozen margaritas. It was a perfect ending to another memorable weekend in the desert.
