We’ve been keeping you up to date on Idai Makaya’s exciting plans to complete a 1700 mi (2700 km) journey across Great Britain. His Longest Ride Challenge inspired ElliptiGO riders all over the world, and we recently gave him a send-off penned by Global ElliptiGO Rider’s Club officers.

This past Thursday, Idai achieved his goal – successfully completing his ride from Land’s End to John o’ Groats and back to Land’s End (aka LeJogLe). His efforts have blown away our team at World HQ and the ElliptiGO community worldwide. We’re excited to name Idai the July 2018 Rider of the Month. We thank him for sharing the values of our brand and for using his ElliptiGO bike to promote positive change in his community.

With riding partner Alan by his side for the entire journey, Idai experienced so much along the way.  Here’s a recap of some of the best moments, which he documented through his website and social media. In John o’Groats! We’ve completed the 865-mile Northbound End to End ride across Britain, between Land’s End & John o’Groats, in 5 days & 14hrs. We’re now halfway through this epic journey in memory of my late brother, Garai Makaya. I scattered his ashes here, so that every time I see that iconic sign I’ll remember him. Day 11 has been a tough day… We had to take a mid afternoon break for a triple espresso because we were falling asleep while riding – in the rain.
